Andrew Pelling is our local MP,
A member of the Conservative Party.

Andrew has had a high profile in Croydon for a number of years as a
campaigning Councillor and as the local London Assembly Member before
being elected as the MP for Croydon Central.

Andrew's Experience

Andrew does not really see himself as a politician. He puts Croydon
first and sees being a representative of residents as being about people
not politics. All political parties speak highly of Andrew at the London
Assembly.

Even the Leader of the London Greens called him 'the acceptable face of
Conservativism." And Ken Livingstone said "actually, although he is a
wicked Conservative, I do suggest you go and ask your local GLA member,
Andrew Pelling, because he does take up local issues."

Andrew has got results for the area by putting Croydon first. After 60
years of inaction the Coulsdon by-pass is being built. This is a very
real example of Andrew getting results. Andrew has campaigned for higher
pensions and to keep local Post Offices and neighbourhood pharmacies
open. He has helped save the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and
campaigned successfully for Croydon to be connected to the underground
and for work on tram extensions.

Since being elected as MP in 2005, Andrew has helped over 4000
constituents and has campaigned on such issues as the unification of
rules for blue disabled parking badges, human trafficking in Croydon and
a Fair Deal for Croydon in the government grant that funds the majority
of council services.
